Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week Celebrates Brown Girls

I had the pleasure of seeing first hand all that is invested in producing an amazing show when I was invited to attend shows this past week, April 20-24 at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. Five days,34 designers with 320 brands of wedding dresses, evening gowns to men's formal attire. The visit alone to beautiful Barcelona was enjoyable. Steps away from Museu Nacional d'art de Catalunya , Fira de Barcelona brought in over 18,000 visitors which were a mix of exhibitors, buyers, designers, boutique owners, retailers, and media personnels from all over the world.

For me it was reminiscent of my fond days at New York Fashion Week under the tents of Bryant Park and Lincoln Center. Barcelona has brought designers from all of the world, Poland, France, Ukraine, Lebanon, Japan, Italy to name a few: Agnieszka Światły, Andrea Lalanza, Atelier Pronovias, Carlo Pignatelli, Cymbeline, Demetrios, Higar Novias, Isabel Sanchis, Jesús Peiró, Julia Kontogruni, Katy Corso, Lorena Panea, Manila Novias, Marchesa for Pronovias, Marco & Maria, Marylise, Rembo Styling & Carta Branca, Mireia Balaguer, Modeca, Moncho Heredia, More, Nicolas Montenegro, Nicole Milano, Olga Macià, Peter Langner, Poesie Sposa, Ramóno Sanjurjo, Rosa Clara, Simone Marulli, Sophie et Voilà, Vestal, and Yolancris to name a few.

Cymbeline is know to create modernizes dresses for the fashion forward woman. In speaking to the woman behind the brand, Lucrèce Falcoz, she told me how important it is to keep things fresh and fashion forward.

You can see the beauty of the gowns in each piece presented with a classic touch. It is designed with the spirit of a youthful bride, women of all ages.

The thing that made this even more outstanding is the beautiful models that came across the catwalk. All representing the variety of beauties that want to commit to the union of marriage of all ages, sizes, ethnic backgrounds, and skin tones. Bravo to the team and the designers that made sure there was representation across the spectrum as it should be.
