CNN Dumps Don Lemon and Fox Parts With Tucker Carlson
At the same damn time
We were already well versed at ignoring this person, but in what can only be described as a miniscule step in the right direction, Fox News and Tucker Carlson agree to "part ways."
The news comes with a bombastic side eye as Fox recently reached a settlement with Dominion for their rampant spread of lies regarding the 2020 election, leading many to assume that Tucker's departure was part of the deal.
Unfortunately, his massive popularity will most likely land him at another platform, but we're choosing to take this as a small, tiny, microscopic, short-term win.
Over at CNN, Don Lemon got fired, a move he absolutely should have seen coming. Back in February, Lemon made disparaging, sexist comments against Rep. presidential candidate Nikki Haley, saying she wasn't in her "prime" at 51 years old. Don Lemon is 57 years old his damn self.
Don took to Twitter to post a notes screenshot with his feelings. (Just post a tweet or two, my Lord its hard on the eye. Go look.)
"I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been fired by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play."
CNN came quick with a clap back writing, "Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter."
The feels:
Tucker? Bye, no one cares. He'll end up somewhere else, his rhetoric lives on. Vote these types into obscurity.
Don? Well, we hate to see anything that makes Tr*mp happy to ever occur. Like, no. But on the other hand, Don has a track record of sexist comments, CNN said "Hey, we can do better" and we love that for her. And the Nikki Haley thing? Come onnn —. don't tear her down for being a woman! Go after her platform! Her voting record! Anything!
No word yet on either of the boys' replacements. We'll update this post with more deets as they become available.
